This project investigates
Using R programming, I analyzed data from the 2020 American Decennial Census and the 2020 American Community Survey (ACS). These datasets were geospatially joined with historical redlining data, obtained from Mapping Inequality, a collaborative initiative that digitizes historical redlining maps to make them accessible for research.
Through data analysis and visualization, the project highlights the socio-economic and demographic trends in the South Bronx, providing a foundation for better understanding how racist policies like redlining contribute to current inequities. This research not only demonstrates technical proficiency in R but also reflects a commitment to leveraging data to support social justice and community-led advocacy.
